Invisible Braces

Turn that frown upside down with Success Smile Orthodontics and invisible braces. Your orthodontist at Success Smile Orthodontics can enhance self-esteem and physical confidence with invisible braces by offering clear braces or clear aligners such as those used in Invisalign. Unlike traditional metallic braces or ceramic braces, which use metal wires and brackets glued onto the front of each tooth, invisible braces are more hidden in the mouth.

What can invisible braces do for you?

  • Clear Aligners

Clear aligners are another method of straightening teeth that is a completely different treatment. Invisible clear braces or clear aligners are a series of custom-made braces or trays that are fitted mouthpieces designed to straighten teeth by slightly moving the teeth towards the correct position over time. The number of trays of clear braces or aligners you will need depends on your specific situation. These types of invisible clear braces or aligners need to be worn 24 hours a day for the entire treatment period and might be a good option for people who do not have time to visit the orthodontist regularly.

  • Invisible Braces for Kids

Are clear aligners appropriate for kids? It depends. Since clear braces or aligners such as Invisalign are removable it makes it easier for brushing and flossing and with these types of braces you can eat popcorn, gum, nuts and all the good food you would not be allowed to eat with traditional braces. Clear braces or aligners may even work better in kids than metal or even ceramic or lingual braces. If the child is careful and mindful about keeping the invisible aligner braces or clear braces in all day and night except for eating, the results can sometimes be even better than regular metal braces. Using clear braces or aligners such as Invisalign is sometimes not better mainly because kids are more adaptable to having things in their mouth and they are not constantly taking them out.

  • Lingual Braces

Lingual braces are just like traditional braces except that the brackets and wires are placed on the inside of the teeth so they are hidden. They require less force and may hurt less than traditional braces, but are harder to eat and talk with because they are on the inside of your teeth.

  • Tooth-Colored Ceramic Braces

Invisible braces can treat overbites, crowding or widely spaced teeth or crooked teeth and are typically designed for adults and older teenagers. Ceramic braces or tooth colored braces, are made of ceramic materials that are more brittle than metal braces. Ceramic braces are also larger than metal brackets and require small rubber bands, or ligatures to hold them to the arch wire which are changed every time you get an adjustment. Both metal braces and ceramic braces utilize the same treatment time. When using braces, your orthodontist at Success Smile Orthodontics will ensure that a slower, more gradual force is applied to guarantee the strength capabilities of the brackets. The tooth colored brackets are made out of ceramic instead of metal and are tinted to match your tooth color. Elastic bands are clear so they are hardly noticeable, and the arch wire can be white in order to make the braces blend as much as possible to your teeth. The tooth-colored brackets can stain slightly over time.

Clear Aligners Cost

Clear braces or aligners such as Invisalign are typically more expensive than other types of braces such as traditional braces. Remember, no matter which invisible braces treatment you choose, the most important part of your smile transformation is your orthodontist. At Success Smiles Orthodontics, Dr Padilla will carefully direct your treatment to ensure the best results and help you keep that lasting impression-your smile!
